Douglas Town Committee Urges Democrats to Attend Caucus April 4

Members of the Douglas Democratic Town Committee recently met and reviewed the numerous offices open for May’s upcoming annual elections. Positions on the Board of Selectmen, School Committee, Planning Board, Water Sewer Commission, Cemetery Commission, Assessors, Library Trustees and Recreation Commission will all be on the ballot on Tuesday, May 12. Douglas also elects its Town Clerk, Treasurer and Moderator and they are all up for election this year as well. Candidates seeking positions can be drafted and endorsed by the Democratic town committee at its caucus on Saturday, April 4 at 10 a.m. at the Municipal Center at 29 Depot Street.

The Committee urges all Douglas citizens to actively participate in their town government. With a budget of over $21 million and faced with funding reductions from the Commonwealth, it is more important than ever that everyone participate and have a voice.
